Abstract (EN)

Fear of crime is the feeling of fear and anxiety that an individual feels towards symbols that suggest that they may be related to crime and crime. It is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon with interrelated cognitive, emotional and behavioral dimensions. Although it is very closely related to crime, it is a different phenomenon from crime; Although the fear of crime increased with the increase in crime rates, it was observed that it did not decrease with the decrease in crime rates. The aim of this project is to determine the risk factors of fear of crime, which has a rapidly increasing importance within the scope of forensic sciences and affects people negatively in every field, to determine the negative results it reveals, to reveal the importance of space security and to reveal the fear of crime in the urban space as a result of the survey to be conducted with the students studying at Çukurova University. The aim is to determine the effect of traces on the fear of crime of individuals and to provide data and offer solutions for a safer city and therefore a safer society in the light of these data. As a result of the research, "fear of crime victimization" and "crime victimization risk perception" levels were found to be high. Women's "fear of crime victimization" and "crime victimization risk perception" levels are higher. In crime groups, women are more afraid of "personal" crimes, and men's fear levels do not show a significant difference in crimes "against personal or property". The type of crime that women are most afraid of is "being raped or sexually assaulted" and men are "being attacked with weapons". Age variable affects "fear of crime victimization" and "crime victimization risk perception". The education variable does not affect the "fear of crime" sub-dimensions. Direct victimization experience affects the "feeling insecure" sub-dimension, but does not affect the "fear of crime victimization" and "crime victimization risk perception".
