Abstract (EN)

This study is based on the interpretation of The people of the Book in?Contemporary Interpretation of Holy Koran? by Süleyman Ate . In this respect, firstly,explanation about Sabians and Mazdeans who believed in the Judgment Day and actedgood and heavenly and due to these acting?s who were gospelled by the heaven is done.Later Jews and Christians who were mentioned by the Koran in content of the Thepeople of the Book.According to Ate there not only one religion which leads human beings tosalvation. As mentioned in Bakara sura, verse 62, anyone who believes in God and theJudgment Day and performs good acts is gospelled by the heaven. In this frame,methods and processes of Ate which support the idea that ?heaven is not the propertyof one group of people? is investigated. Additionally, criticisms to this approach andreply of Ate to these critics are included. As a result, we observed that these opinionsby Ate have contributed to Islam World, however came to the opinion that they are nottotally accepted by some parts.Key Words: The people of the Book, Jews, Christians, Heaven, Hell
