Abstract (EN)

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DIPLOPHONIA and THE DEGREE of SUBHARMONICCOMPONENTS PARAMETER in SULCUS VOCALIS PATIENTSElçin TADIHANABSTRACTThis research has aimed to find out the direct relationship between the sulcus vocalis patients withdetectible diplophonia and degree of sub-harmonic components (DSH) analyzed by voice analyzingprogram MDVP.The research has been based on retrospective study model. Research data has been gathered fromsulkus vokalis diagnosed subjects (patient group) who applied to Istanbul Surgical Hospital KBBMajor Clinic during the 2000-2005 period. The control group was formed from individuals betweenages of 22 to 55 with no previous voice related problems. Both groups were anchored around sum of30 subjects. Sulkus vokalis patients? group information was based on their documented medicalhistory, whereas the control groups information was formed with help of MDVP acoustic voiceanalyzing programs? TFF, TFK, jitter, shimmer, NHR, SPI and DSH parameters. The results of the study showed a significant relation between diplophonia, sulkus vokalis and DSHparameter. Parameter results differ in both of our study groups; female subjects from both groupsshowed variants in their parameter readings after performed MDVP, whereas male subjects?parameters did not differ in NHR and shimmer parameters, except in TFF, TFK jitter, SPI, DSH. Thenoticeable difference in patient groups, both male and female, TFF and TFK parameters wasundetected in other parameters.Based on the results provided after the intensive study, it is affirmative that fundamental frequencyand diplophonia is very important and is a useful factor in diagnosing and treating sulcus vocalis. Keywords: Sulcus vocalis, Diplophonia, Acoustical analysis, MDVP.
