Abstract (EN)
Within the scope of the thesis study, electrochemical treatment and adsorption method was applied for the removal of Reactive Black-5 dyestuff. In the electrooxidation method, the effect of parameters such as electrode type, current density, flow rate on the removal efficiency was investigated by preparing model working water and adding NaCl, Na2SO4 and NaNO3 supporting electrolyte at different concentrations. In the adsorption method, kinetic and isotherm studies were carried out using iron nanoparticles produced by green synthesis. It was investigated whether the produced iron nanoparticle contributed to the electrooxidation processes. COD, TOC and toxicity tests were carried out by designing the experiment with the appropriate conditions in the study. In the electrooxidation experiments performed using 500 mL wastewater containing 40 mg/L Reactive Black 5 dye, 75A/m2 current density, 10mM NaCl support electrolyte addition and 0.3 L/min flow rate, as a result of 30 minutes treatment time, 100% color, 98% TOC, 80% toxicity and 50% COD removal efficiency were obtained. In studies carried out with 10-100 nm green iron nanoparticles (YDnP) obtained from green tea extract, 250 mL model wastewater containing 40 mg/L Reactive Black 5 dye at 0.8 g/L YDnP concentrations was fully mixed after 60 minutes of retention time in the batch system. 40% color removal was achieved.
