Abstract (EN)

One of the most established and important sectors worldwide is textile.Dye wastes vary from day to day and even from hour to hour during the production phase. These non-biodegradable molecules interfere with the photosynthetic process by adversely affecting the fauna and flora. In recent years, hydroxyl radicals have been used to remove these organic pollutants. More than half of the most produced dyes are azo group dyes. The research involves removal of Direct Orange 26 and Acid Red 88 dyestuffs from aqueous media was investigated by advanced oxidation processes such as Sono-Fenton process, ultrasound hydrogen peroxide process and ultrasound process. Color, conductivity and COD parameters of direct Orange 26 and Acid Red 88 dyestuffs were followed. Parameters such as pH, H2O2, Fe(II) concentration, time and initial concentration were examined for appropriate experimental conditions. The Sono-Fenton process saw better degradation of organic pollutants and increased color and COD removal yields. The Sono-Fenton method provided 98.93% color and 85.21% COD removal for Direct Orange 26, 99.38% color and 96.90% COD removal for Acid Red 88.The Ultrasound-hydrogen peroxide method provided 91.11 % color and 75.42 % COD removal for Direct Orange 26, 93.40 % color and 73.53 % COD removal for Acid Red 88.In ultrasound method provided 12.13 % color and 65.97 % COD removal for Direct Orange 26, 58.24 % color and 63.55 % COD removal for Acid Red 88.
