Abstract (EN)
Super–strech denim fabrics are a new trend in the denim sector that our country is robust in regards to both infrastructure and export-based products. The aim of this thesis is to compose the development of super-stretch denim fabrics taking into consideration the dimension of the material (fiber, yarn, and fabric), then conversion of the material into garments(trousers) and in continuation the design, development and manufacturing of a new prototype pressure measurement tester in order to determine the pressure being applied to the human body as a functional product. In addition to the 100% cotton yarns, core/dual-core yarns with different fiber and blending ratios were developed and 9 different yarns were produced. Out of these yarns, twelve different quality denim fabrics with different elasticity and stretch levels were obtained with different raw material combinations. The essential quality-control tests were applied to ascertain the physical properties of the produced yarns and fabrics and the results were interpreted. The produced fabrics were transformed and created into trousers of sizes 32, 36 and 40 in accordance with the size set table. Therefore 108 pants (12 fabrics * 3 sizes * 3 pieces) were obtained from 12 different quality fabrics. Within the scope of the study, a new dynamic pressure measurement test device was designed and prototype manufactured. Thanks to the pressure measurement test device, the pressure levels applied to the body by trousers / garments obtained from super stretch denim fabrics were ascertained. The variation of the pressure values of the garment in regards to the fiber, yarn, fabric and body size were interpreted in relation to the resulting concrete data.
