Abstract (EN)
Energy has continued to be the fundamental driving force of civilization since the Industrial Revolution. Energy production systems are a set of processes that are shaped according to the principles of conservation laws and enable energy to be converted from one form to another and made usable. Every stage in the process, from resource to consumption of the end user, are areas that need improvement. In today's world, traditional energy production models and consumption habits are questioned due to the real costs of energy. It has become clear that traditional energy production methods and consumption habits are no longer sustainable. Energy conversion systems based on sustainability and renewable energy sources are now an inevitable choice. Solar and wave energy are prominent fields of study due to their ease of access to energy sources, wide application areas and potential. Türkiye is in a very advantageous position for renewable energy in terms of abundance of resources. As is the case all over the world, Türkiye cannot benefit sufficiently from its wave energy potential. This study first examines the historical development of energy production systems, traditional production methods and their effects in terms of sustainability, and the need for renewable energy systems. The study then discusses wave energy conversion systems and their historical development and provides an overview of the recent studies on the subject. In the last section, a scalable buoy-type energy harvester that converts wave energy into electrical energy according to magnetic levitation principles is proposed. The harvester, tested in the laboratory according to the Karadeniz scale, converted wave energy into electrical energy. The proposed system is examined in terms of design, manufacturing, and results.
