Abstract (EN)

Drought is a natural disaster that significantly affects the lives of all living things, occurs as a result of rainfall falling below normal levels, and whose duration, time and place cannot be determined exactly. For this reason, it is of great importance to perform drought analysis before a drought occurs. Thus, the impact of drought can be reduced by taking necessary precautions and planning. Many statistical methods have been developed for drought analysis. Within the scope of this thesis study, 11 station centers in the Susurluk Basin were examined. The data obtained from these meteorological stations and the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) value were analyzed with DrinC software using gamma and log-normal probability distribution. Thus, it was aimed to determine the drought situation in the Susurluk Basin. For this purpose, firstly, monthly, 3 month, 6 month and 12 month SPI values were calculated and the number of dry and wet periods were determined. As a result, an increase in the number of wet periods generally observed for the Susurluk Basin and a decrease in the number of dry periods can be mentioned.
