Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the regional ramifications of Saudi Arabia's intervention in Yemen as a response to the chaotic environment in the country and to address the repercussions of the European Union's (EU) reactions to the intervention. One can observe that during the Arab Spring the EU has followed an ineffective policy towards the turmoil caused by the toppling of one-man regimes in the region while emphasising democracy, human rights and the concepts that lay the foundations of the EU idea –as it did in Yemen. In addition to the analysis on the intervention, efforts will be made to clarify the links between the EU policies, the EU proposal for intervention in the subsequent period and the possible outcomes. Furthermore, the compatibility between the intervention in Yemen and the international law will be explored.
