Esbâb-ı Nüzul in Suyuti's al-Durr al-Manthur fi Tafsir bi'l Ma'thur

Our study focuses on Celâleddin es-Suyûti's approach to the narratives of asbāb al-nuzūl in the commentary titled "Al-Durr Al-Manthur Fi Tafsir Bil-Ma'thur". This thesis consists of an introduction and two chapters. In the introduction part, we gave information about the purpose, importance, subject, and method of the research. In the first chapter, we first mentioned the sources that Suyuti benefited from. Afterwards, we discussed where and how the mufassir presented the narratives of asbāb al-nuzūl in terms of narration, verse, and surah. We also discussed the other subjects that Suyuti touched upon in the narrations of asbāb al-nuzūl. We tried to determine the method of Suyuti in the narrations of asbāb al-nuzūl by explaining these titles with examples. In the second part, we tried to present the expressions used by Suyuti for narrations of asbāb al-nuzūl and his approach to isnad. Our study ended with the conclusion section.
