Abstract (EN)
Coumarins occur naturally in plants and show a broad spectrum of biological activity. In addition to their biological importance, studies on the development of synthesis methods are gaining more importance day by day due to their use in various fields such as, agricultural industry, food, paint, perfume, medicine and pharmaceutical industry. At supercritical conditions, some physicochemical properties of solvents such as viscosity, diffusion rate, density, ionization constants, mass transfere rate and dielectric constant change dramatically and cause an increase in the solubility power of these solvents. In addition, due to its compatibility with green chemistry conditions, syntheses made under supercritical conditions are clean, environmentally friendly and economical. For this reason, supercritical solvents are an important alternative particullary for organic synthesis. In this thesis, fifteen coumarin compounds were synthesized for the first time in supercritical ether media by Knoevenagel condensation and Pechmann synthesis methods. Synthesis of the compounds according to the determined optimum conditions via a model reaction.
