The state of giving place to tokat of teachers by teaching the subjects of Turkish national struggle in the Ataturk's principles and history of Turkish revolution course in the scope of local history

This study was conducted to determine the state of giving place to Tokat of teachers by teaching the subjects of Turkish national struggle in Ataturk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution course of Ministry of Education in the scope of local history. The study discussed local history, development, resources and benefits of local history, local history in the curriculum programs of secondary school Social Studies and Ataturk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution courses and Tokat in the period of Turkish national struggle. Semi-structured interview form was prepared in order to determine the state of giving place to Tokat of teachers by teaching the subjects of Turkish national struggle in Ataturk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution course in the scope of local history. In the scope of the study Semi-structured interview forms were applied to 24 Social Studies teachers working in the secondary schools affiliated to the Directorate of National Education in the central district of Tokat province during the 2017-2018 academic year and descriptive analysis was used in the analysis of the data obtained from the interview form. With this study, it was found that many of the Social Studies teachers who participated in the study give place to Tokat in the subjects of Turkish national struggle as long as the appropriate environment was created. It was seen that presence of local history subjects in the Social Studies and Ataturk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution courses had positive effects on the students.
