Abstract (EN)
The brake system is one of the active safety systems that allow the vehicle to slow down or stop safely. Brake systems of motorized and non-motorized vehicles used on highways in our country are checked at Vehicle Inspection Stations and service stations. The most important control in the controls of the brake systems is the calculation of the braking efficiency that can safely stop the vehicle. Calculation of brake efficiency: It is measured with a drum type brake tester, which is one of the test devices used in laboratories, service stations or production lines. In this study, brake force tests were carried out with the same vehicle from brake test devices with different usage numbers. The effect of tooth thickness on the drum on the brake force formation was investigated by evaluating the brake forces taken from the devices. The tooth thickness on the drum, which affects the measurement of the brake force used in the calculation of brake efficiency, has been evaluated depending on the number of uses.
