Historical aspect of aesthetics and functionality of clothing

Prof. Dr. Sıdıka BİLGEN 2005, 48 pages In the first part of the thesis, general information on historical aspect of aesthetics and functionality of clothing is discussed. In the second part of the thesis, clothing and historical development of clothing is mentioned. Besides, clothing that have gained priority in the way of functionality is examined including the explanation of the consepts of aesthetics and functionality in clothing in the third part of the study. The fourth part aims to make a comparison of the aesthetics and functional properties of the clothes that have reflected the trends of old times and recent times. Historical method has been used in this research as a method and suggestions are given in the light of the datas obtained.
