Abstract (EN)

Objective: This study aimed to develop a model for the protection and promotion of health among agricultural workers. Method: In this study, Charmaz's constructivist grounded theory approach was adopted, and individual interviews and memos were used as data sources. Data were collected using "Personal Information Form" and "Semi-Structured Interview Form." Data collection and analysis were conducted simultaneously. The sample size was determined by continuing the data collection process until theoretical saturation was reached and was conducted with a total of 20 participants working in the agricultural sector in the Demre district of Antalya province. Three stages were followed in the analysis of the data: initial coding, focused coding, and theoretical coding, and the MAXQDA program was used. Glaser's 6C Family Code framework was followed in structuring the analysis. Results: The analysis identified 8 categories and 26 subcategories based on the 6C Code Family. Conditions/prerequisites, individual self-care behaviors, and access to healthcare services; causes/sources, individual attitudes; outcomes encompass physical and psychosocial health outcomes; context encompasses the work environment/environmental factors, social roles-cultural pressures, and structural barriers/insecurity; possibilities encompass environmental/unexpected risks; and connections/influencing variables encompass the cyclical relationships between these findings. Conclusion: The Health Protection and Promotion Model in Agricultural Workers developed in this study examines the health status of agricultural workers; individual self-care behaviors, access to health services, physical/psychosocial health outcomes, individual attitudes, work environment/environmental factors, social roles/cultural pressures, structural barriers and insecurity, environmental/unexpected risks, and the interconnected interactions between these factors. Key words: agricultural workers, health protection, health promotion, grounded theory
