Abstract (EN)
This project explores the integration and educational potential of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools within illustration-focused design education. Using a qualitative method research design that incorporates interviews, surveys, and focus group discussions, the study examines how students and educators interact with both AI-based and conventional tools across various stages of the ideation and illustration process. The research aims to: (1) Investigate design educators' and students' perspectives on the dynamics of designer-AI collaboration, (2) Examine student approaches and typologies based on their use of GenAI in creative workflows, (3) Analyze the implementation of GenAI in academic design studio settings in higher education and identify key ethical issues, educational strategies, and effective integration methods within communication and visual design curricula. By analyzing perspectives and practices across different stakeholders and course levels, this study contributes to the ongoing discourse on the responsible and reflective integration of AI in creative education, offering insights for shaping future design education.
