Abstract (EN)

The body temperatures of individuals could increase when they are working in hot conditions, when they have special illness etc. In order to decrease this temperature, special garments are needed. These garments are called microclimate cooling garments and can be classified as water cooling, air cooling and phase changing materials cooling systems. They are used in military clothes, space suits, protective clothes, in surgical clothes and in medical field to relieve the symptoms of special diseases like multiple sclerosis and ectodermal dysplasias. Liquid cooling garments are one of the most popular topics about investigation of cooling systems. But there is no research about these systems in our country. In this work, four types of water cooling garments, which are different from the other researches, are designed. In order to investigate the cooling effects of these garments, a test method is developed. For this aim a cooling device which is pumping the water into these garments and a thermal manikin are designed and manufactured. The effects of water inlet temperature and flow rate on cooling effect and the differences of manikin temperature are investigated.
