Abstract (EN)

Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) is a significant cause of mortality and morbidity. It ranks third in incidence among urogenital cancers, following bladder and prostate cancers. The highest incidence is observed between the ages of 60-70. Advances in imaging techniques have led to an increase in the incidence of kidney cancer in recent years. With the development of new treatments and earlier detection of tumors, survival time has increased, and the current average survival time is more than two years. The aim of this study is to determine the demographic characteristics, disease prognosis, treatment methods, and the impact of these treatments on survival in patients diagnosed with non-clear cell renal cell carcinoma (RCC) who were followed and treated at the Department of Medical Oncology at Trakya University Faculty of Medicine over the past 15 years. The objective of our study is to thoroughly examine the characteristics of this group of RCC patients with different features at our center and, based on the data obtained, shed light on the clinical course and treatment outcomes of these patients. In this way, it is aimed to develop more effective strategies in the management of RCC patients and to improve patient care. A total of 141 patients diagnosed with non-clear cell RCC at Trakya University Medical Faculty Hospital between 2010 and 2023 were included in the study. Patient's data were obtained from pathology reports and patient file records. Survival analyses were performed by the Kaplan-Meier method. 64 As a result, when comparing papillary and chromophobe RCCs, it was found that the papillary type histopathology was associated with shorter overall survival (OS). We also found that high IMDC and MSKCC scores, as well as the presence of capsule invasion and necrosis in histological evaluation, were associated with shorter survival.
