Abstract (EN)

Aim: The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the the level of social support in the workplace and occupational self-esteem and life satisfaction. Methods: The research was designed in relational scanning model. Studies were included all those working in the medical field of social services in Turkey and 203 medical social workers have been reached. The dependent variable of the study is life satisfaction, independent variables sociodemographic characteristics, professional self-esteem and social support points at work. In the study, socio-demographic characteristics information form, Professional Self-Esteem Scale, Life Satisfaction Scale and Swedish Work Load, Control, Social Support Scale, Social Support Sub-dimension were used. Correlation analysis, student's t test, ANOVA and linear regression analysis were used for data collected by electronic form. Findings: According to the findings of univariate analysis, the life satisfaction and professional self-esteem of married social workers are higher than the single ones. Those who prefer the unit they work in and who receive in-service training seem to have higher professional self-esteem. In addition, professional self-esteem on life satisfaction and social support in the workplace is found to be significantly effective. In multivariate analysis, it was found that professional self-esteem (β = 0.446, p <0.001) and social support at work (β = 0.207, p <0.001) significantly increased the life satisfaction of medical social workers. Conclution: The professional self-esteem and social support in the workplace increases the medical social worker at a meaningful level of life satisfaction positively.
