Abstract (EN)

This research aims to examine the travel experiences of Muslim women traveling solo. Muslim women's solo travel experiences are evaluated at the level of social and individual reflections from the perspective of post-feminism and Islamic feminism. In the research designed with qualitative method, phenomenology design was adopted. Criterion sampling and snowball sampling were used in sample selection. In the study, in-depth interviews were conducted with a total of 19 solo female Muslim travels using a semi-structured interview technique. MAXQDA Analytics Pro 2024 program was used to analyse the data. The results of the research showed that Muslim women travel solo for the purpose of social isolation and face socio-cultural and socio-religious constraints while traveling. Especially in international travel, socio-religious constraints emerged in the context of prejudice, stereotyping and marginalization. It was also found that Muslim women experience psychological risk anxiety in the context of negative social attitudes. The lack of studies examining travel experiences through the eyes of solo female Muslim travelers increases the value of this research. It is thought that the research will be a guiding light for future studies.
