Abstract (EN)
Indoor air quality is one of the major parameters affecting human health and comfort. Modern humans spend about 90% of their lives in indoors. There are various pollutant gases, especially nitroxides, sulfur oxides, carbon oxides, and volatile organic compounds, present in indoor air. Pollutant gases cause headaches, sore throat, muscle pain, dry skin result in poor quality of life. In this study, the effects of textile materials on the indoor air quality are examined. Not only the literature study of the different fibers has done but also gas trichloroethylene, which is in "WHO guidelines for indoor air quality: selected pollutants" report, adsorption behavior of processed wool fibers were observed by the experiments. According to the experimental study results, it was seen that wool fibers can adsorb/absorb gas form of trichloroethylene.
