European union green consensus requirements for the textile industry

The disadvantages that the textile sector has given to the environment in recent years are at quite high levels. The European Union Green Deal, which is effective in eliminating these negative factors, ensuring sustainability and ensuring the transition to a circular economy, was adopted on December 11, 2019. In this study, the requirements of the textile sector in compliance with the European Union green agreement were investigated on a large scale. This topic has also been chosen to fill this gap due to the fact that there is not much information about this topic being researched in the literature, and in order to lead research that will be conducted similar to this topic after that. In this thesis, the current situation information of the textile sector and the European Union green agreement is presented to the reader. The literature has been used for the source information of these presentations. Due to the fact that the textile sector is a highly productive sector both in the world and in Turkey, the amount of waste it leaves to the environment is also quite high. These wastes, on the other hand, pollute the environment quite a lot. For this reason, the concept of the European Union Green Deal of understanding stands out in the textile sector's taking measures for the environment. In order for the textile sector to take measures for the environment, it is necessary to comply with the European Union green accord and consciously process its waste and change some parts of its production for the environment. As a result, in order for the textile sector to adapt to the European Union green agreement, it is important that textile companies evaluate their practices and waste in appropriate ways, such as clean Jul-ture, sustainability, life cycle assessment, circular economy, in addition to reducing the change of elements such as energy, chemical use, water use, saving during the production stages that they have made within themselves. In addition, the innovations made by the leading fashion brands and manufacturers in textiles to support the European Union green agreement also accelerate compliance with the green agreement. Considering the general situation of the world and Turkey, companies connected to the textile sector should accelerate their compliance processes with the European Union green agreement and make applications for more environment along with acceleration. In order to ensure the sustainability of the world, it is necessary to ensure the compliance of the textile sector with the European Union green agreement in the fastest possible way.
