Prof. Emel Ceyhun SABIR In this study; cost and cost factors were utilized for production steps of textile and apparel industry. For this aim; comparison of cost factors was investigated by chosen countries and also the ratio of cost factors in total product cost was determined. Equations used for calculating product cost was given in every step of textile and apparel industry and the cost of determined yarn, woven fabric and finished fabric was calculated by using these equations. The energy cost, one of the important factor affecting product cost in textile and apparel industry was examined widely in this study. Energy consumption of chosen textile mills was investigated to utilize energy in textile and apparel industry. Also, factors affecting energy and power consumption in textile was determined and measures to provide energy conservation were explained.
