Abstract (EN)

Title: The effect of gamification technique performed with tele nursing on adolescents' nutritional behavior and physical activity level Aim: The aim of the research is to determine the effect of the gamification technique performed with telenursing on adolescents' nutritional behavior, physical activity level and health status perception. Methods: The study was conducted in a single-center, single-blind, parallel group, randomized pretest-posttest full experimental design with a seven-week follow-up period (Clincal Trials: NCT05567146). The study was conducted with 65 adolescents (29 intervention, 36 control) in three high schools with different educational programs (vocational and technical, Anatolian and science high schools) in Aksaray city center between 16 May 2022 and 2 September 2022. In the study, gamification technique was applied to the intervention group for seven weeks. In the study, intention-to-treat (ITT) analysis was performed using the SPSS 15.0 statistical program. Results: It was found that the change in the intervention group's physical activity level, nutritional behavior, fruit and vegetable consumption change process total and sub-dimension score, and health status perception scores were statistically significant compared to the control group. In addition, it was determined that the frequency of drinking water, soda and energy drinks of adolescents in the intervention group was statistically significant compared to the control group. It was determined that the application had no effect on the frequency of adolescents drinking milk and dairy products, or on the frequency of drinking fruit juice, carbonated drinks, tea and coffee. Conclusion: The gamification technique performed with telenursing has been shown to improve adolescents' nutritional behavior and health status perception; It has been shown to be effective in increasing the level of physical activity, fruit and vegetable consumption, the frequency of drinking water and soda, and reducing the frequency of drinking energy drinks.
