Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to develop a valid and reliable scale that will measure the effect of using the Flipped Classroom (FC) Model in secondary school mathematics teaching. The design of the research was determined as a screening design, one of the quantitative research methods. First of all, an item pool of 90 items was created in line with the literature review on the FC model and scale development and the opinions of the students. Expert opinion was taken for these obtained items and it was reduced to 64 items by taking into account the opinions of the experts. The draft scale was applied in 6 public secondary schools in Istanbul in the second term of the 2020-2021 academic year. The study group was determined by simple random sampling method. In this context, the application was carried out with a total of 871 secondary school students, 236 from the 5th grade, 289 from the 6th grade, 200 from the 7th grade and 146 from the 8th grade, and the scale data were collected. According to the data obtained, the validity and reliability analyzes of the scale were made using SPSS and AMOS package programs. The Flipped Classroom Model Evaluation(FCME) Scale consists of two sub-scales: "Evaluation of Instruction with Video Lessons (ETVL) Sub-Scale" and "Evaluation of Teaching with Face-to-Face Lessons (ETFL) Sub-Scale". As a result of the analyzes, a total of 32 items were removed from the FCME Scale. It was determined that the final scale had 25 items and 6 factors in the ETVL sub-scale, and 7 items and 2 factors in the ETFL sub-scale. The reliability coefficients of the two subscales that make up the scale were calculated separately. The reliability coefficient of the ETVL sub-scale was found to be .846, the reliability coefficient of the ETFL sub-scale to .775 and the reliability coefficient of the scale as a whole was found to be .886. Based on the findings obtained as a result of the analyzes made, it was determined that the "Flipped Classroom Model Evaluation Scale" is a valid and reliable scale.
