Abstract (EN)

Enantiopure tertiary alcohols are very valuable building blocks containingquaternary carbon centres for the synthesis of many different natural products andpharmaceuticals. In this study, (±)-1-methyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-ol 54 and (±)-1-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-1-ol 57 were resolved by using CAL-A-CLEA,CAL-A, Amona PS-C II and CRL. CAL-A-CLEA was the most active biocatalyst inthe resolution of (±)1-methyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-ol 54 and (R)-(-)-1-methyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-yl acetate 53 and (S)-(+)-1-methyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-ol 54 was obtained with 71% ee and 44% ee by 20% conversion, respectively. When (±)-1-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-1-ol 57 was resolved in thepresence CAL-A, (R)-(-)-1-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-1-yl acetate 56 wasobtained with 99% ee by 20% conversion while (S)-(+)-1-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-1-ol 57 was obtained with 33% ee by 25% conversion in thepresence CAL-A-CLEA.
