Abstract (EN)
Fracture of the tibia is the most common long bone fracture. The fractures fixation with interlocking intramedullary nails can be effectively used for fractures of 1/3 proximal and distal tibia. In this study a retrospective evaluation is objected for the fixation with interlocking intramedullary nails at the treatment of 1/3 proximal and distal tibial fractures. In this study, 24 cases were evalauted who have treated with interlocking intramedullary nails which were fixated for ?1/3 proximal or distal tibial fractures?. Before the surgery, postoperative first day and after the fixation; the front-back and as well as the side plan view angulations measured via X-ray radiography. The statistical analysis of mentioned fracture angulations are evaluated. The average measurement differences checked from their X-ray radiographics between the measured front-back angulation in the postoperative first day and the measured front-back angulation after the fixation was 0,79º. On the other hand, the average measurement differences was 0,62º in the measured values at the lateral plan views. The measured angulations either the front-back view or the lateral view postoperative first day have been compared with each others (in 14 cases, the measured angulation values after the fixation were greater than the values measured at the first day just after the surgery) and it is concluded that the angulations have been increasing as a statistically. If the interlocking intramedullary nails are applied with at least two pieces locking screws and locked statically in the fracture fixation by adjusting the fracture angulation to the acceptable reduction values for the tibia distal or 1/3 proximal fracture, the obtained angular reduction after the surgery until getting the fixation have been getting an angular deformity. But the mentioned angular deformity lost is accepted within the acceptable reduction range for the tibia fractures. The fractures fixation with interlocking intramedullary nails at least two locking screws is the confidential method of treatment for the fractures of 1/3 proximal or distal tibia.
