Abstract (EN)

This study examines the measurement invariance of the teacher job satisfaction scale for teachers from Türkiye participating in TIMSS 2019, taking into account gender, experience, and classroom size. The study used the teacher job satisfaction measure from the TIMSS 2019 questionnaire component, using a sample of 431 teachers from Türkiye. Cronbach Alpha and Omega coefficients were calculated and displayed to demonstrate reliability. The scale's one-factor structure was validated using confirmatory factor analysis. Structural equation modeling techniques such as multiple group confirmatory factor analysis and multiple indicators multiple causes model analysis were utilized to analyze measurement invariance. A multiple-group confirmatory factor analysis was used to assess the invariance levels. After including all variables in a single model, the multiple indicators multiple causes model was used to analyze their effect on the latent construct. In conclusion, the TIMSS 2019 Teacher Job Satisfaction Scale for the Türkiye sample provides a metric invariance for gender and class size, and a strict invariance for experience. The multiple indicators multiple causes model revealed no significant effect on the latent job satisfaction construct.
