The contribution of Tokat to National Struggle

ABSTRACT The main aim of the study is of Tokat to the National Struggle Tok which was not occupied 1919-1923when national combat activities gained speed. In the first part of the study, it wastried to explainthesocial life conditions of allethnicandreligiousgroups, whichformedthe urban life in Tokat regionstartinguntilthefirstperiod of theOttomanEmpire. Theactivities in Tokat andtheactivitiesdirectedtowardstheNationalStrugglewerebrieflyexamined in thesecondpart of thestudy in chronologicalorder. Inthispart of thestudy, the role of Tokat in importanteventsexperiencedduringthe anan CongressPeriodlarda, whichconstitutestheprocess of organizingtheNationalStruggle, has beenstudied. Inthethirdandlastpart of thestudy, thecontributionandsupport of Tokat totheNationalStrugglewithintheframework of theimportantevents of theNationalStrugglePeriodweretriedto be evaluated. As a result of thestudy, it has beenseenthat Tokat people, whohaveprovidedstrongerlogisticsupporttothefrontswheretheNationalStrugglewasactuallygiven, haveassumed a historicalmission in theNationalStruggleprocess . As a result of thismission , itwasunderstoodthat Tokat, which had a veryheterogeneoussocialtexture in terms of itsreligious, ethnicandculturalstructure, had an important role in theNationalStruggleprocessandsuppressedtherebellionandtheriotswhichweakenedthisstruggle. Thepeople of Tokat, whoplayed an active role in suppressingthecaliphateandrebellionagainsttheNationalGovernmentandtheNationalArmyestablished in Ankara, hand in handwiththeLightningArmy, whocametosuppresstherebellionsagainsttheGreekcommitteeswhosenumbersrosetoabout 25 thousandfrom 1921 onwards. whenconsideredtogetherprovidedthelargestcontributionsunmuştur.tthemfromorganizingrallies'mjustpulling protest telegramtocontributetoslaptheNationalStrugglewasunderstood as a result of research is muchmoreaway.
