Abstract (EN)
This study is based on the beliefs and practices developed around Hz. Fatma, which has an important place in Turkish social memory. Depending on the importance given to women in Turkish culture, information was given about Mother Umay before Islam, and the transformation of Hz. Fatma to Mother Fatma Faith was tried to be explained. For this, first of all, the concept of "Social Memory" was defined and Hz. Fatma's place in the social memory has been tried to be explained. Afterwards, the perception around her and the practices related to this perception were determined and examples from Anatolian geography were given about the discourse and the ways of realization. The study consists of seven parts with introduction and conclusion parts. In the introduction, before the Fatma Ana cult, the place of women in Turkish social memory and Mother Umay are emphasized. In the "Life of Hz. Fatma" section, information about Fatma's life is given. In the "Hz. Fatma in Social Memory" section, giving the name of Fatma to girls, accepting her as a healing, fertility and protective element and her presence in concrete culture are discussed with reference to various examples. In the "Practices Around Hz. Fatma" section, beliefs and practices referring to Hz. Fatma are mentioned. The reflections of Mother Fatma Faith to the present are exemplified by movements and discourses such as not pouring water into ash, burning henna, not washing clothes on Saturday. In the "Hz. Fatma in Turkish Literature" section of the study, the reflections of Hz. Fatma and Mother Fatma Faith in the literary field are shown. In the "Hz. Fatma in Virtual Environment" section, Hz. Fatma's presence in the virtual environment with the changing and developing technology has been investigated.
