Abstract (EN)

The heat pumps are the applications of cooling based on vapor compression in which thewaste heat of the cycle is used taken from a relatively cooler source. Optimum performance isobtained by minimizing the work needed for removal of the heat from a region of higher temperature.Heat pump can be designed as a climatic device and as a heating device in the summer and in thewinter seasons, respectively. The ground sourced heat pumps are mainly used for heating or coolingof commercial buildings and residences. Although the temperature of ground is generally constantduring the whole year, it can have different values depending on the type and the moisture content ofthe ground. This study aims the experimental evaluation of the effect of parameters such as the depth ofhorizontal heat exchanger of the ground sourced heat pump and the flow rate of circulated brine onthe performance of a heat pump used for cooling. As a result of the experiments performed in Kutahya, the performance value of the heatpump, which its heat exchanger is located at 1 m depth, has been observed and COP value has beenfound.Key words: Heat pump made of soil, theoretical model, experimental performance.
