Abstract (EN)
In this study, we have discussed the uranium - thorium resources of the worldand Turkey. Nuclear reactors have been classified and the working mechanismof the hybrid reactor has been given. Besides, equilibrium and pre-equilibriumnuclear reactions have been classified. The cross sections of the (n,xn) reactions232 238For Th and U nuclei have been calculated between 4 and 18 MeV incidentenergy. Weisskopf-Ewing theory has been used for the equilibriumcalculations. The pre-equilibrium calculations have been made by excitonmodel, cascade exciton model, the Kalbach systematic and geometry dependenthybrid model. Full exciton model has been used for direct effects ofpreequilibrium. Experimental cross sections have been found from literatureand ENDF/B, CENDL, JEF libraries. It is seen that the results are in goodagreement, with experimental data.Science Code : 404.03.01Key Words : Thorium, uranium, nuclear reactor pre-equilibrium, nuclearreactions, exciton model, hybrid model.Page Number : 53Adviser : Asst.
