Cryopreservation of Toxoplasma gondii TR01 Tachyzoites SUMMARY TANRIVERDİ, Tolga. Cryopreservation of Toxoplasma gondii TR01 Tachyzoites, Master's Thesis, Çankırı, 2025. Today, tachyzoites produced in mice or rats are generally used as antigens in serological tests. During the production of T. gondii in animals, difficulties are experienced due to cost, need for experienced personnel and ethical problems. For this reason, the use of cryopreservation by thawing when needed prevents these problems. Successful cryopreservation studies can be performed with many parasite species. As a result of stockpiling tachyzoites by cryopreservation, it will be possible to provide sufficient antigen to serological tests and reduce animal use when desired.
