Abstract (EN)

This study examined various agronomic characteristics of different corn genotypes, including plant height, first ear height, stalk diameter, tassel emergence time, silk emergence time, number of leaves per plant, number of ears per plant, ear length, ear diameter, number of rows per ear, number of kernels per row, cob diameter, kernel weight per ear, single plant yield, and thousand kernel weight. The averages, minimum and maximum values, coefficient of variation, and correlations between these traits were analyzed for each genotype. Plant height ranged from 150.00 cm to 360.00 cm, with an average of 261.82 cm. The lowest plant height was 150.00 cm in genotype G29, while the highest was 360.00 cm in genotype G18. First ear height ranged from 14.00 cm in genotype G2 to 200.00 cm in genotype G18, with an average of 107.84 cm. Stalk diameter varied from 11.10 mm to 32.50 mm, with an average of 20.61 mm. Tassel emergence time ranged from 48 to 70 days, and silk emergence time ranged from 55 to 77 days. The number of leaves per plant varied from 6 to 16, with an average of 10.8. Ear length ranged from 10.6 to 30 cm, with an average of 16.36 cm. Ear diameter ranged from 11.05 to 57.10 mm, with an average of 37.135 mm. The number of rows per ear ranged from 3 to 25, with an average of 8.97. The number of kernels per row ranged from 2 to 53, with an average of 27.35. Cob diameter varied from 11.10 mm to 37.95 mm, with an average of 22.78 mm. Kernel weight per ear ranged from 1.62 grams to 214.02 grams, with an average of 72.68 grams. Single plant yield ranged from 6.00 grams to 1344.00 grams, with an average of 316.00 grams. Thousand kernel weight varied from 273.5 grams to 539.8 grams, with an average of 406.65 grams. Correlation analysis revealed a positive and significant relationship between stalk diameter (SDS) and plant height (BB) at the 5% level (r = 0.698*). Additionally, there was a positive and significant relationship between SDS and kernel weight per ear (KTA) at the 1% level (r = 0.800**), and between SDS and single plant yield (TBV) at the 1% level (r = 0.807**). A positive and significant relationship was found between KTA and SPÇ at the 5% level (r = 0.699*) and between KTA and TBV at the 5% level (r = 0.687*). Furthermore, a positive and significant relationship was observed between KTA and stalk diameter (KSS) at the 1% level (r = 0.789**). This study highlights the phenotypic characteristics among different corn genotypes and how these traits and their relationships are influenced by genetic diversity and environmental factors. Classifies maize populations according to animal diet. Keywords: Corn, Local variety, Ortahisar
