Abstract (EN)

Since cancer as a serious condition, that has effects on global levels and with a differing levels of incidence related to geopraphic region, information related to its every aspect has significant importance. In order to be able to control and fight against this globally impactful and burdensome disease, finding out as much as possible through intensive research, about its incidence rates, disease and treatment burden to communities and mortality rates presents highest priority. Through this study we have inspected patients that has been diagnosed with different kinds of solid tumor subtypes and treated for cancer between years 2013-2023, in our center Trakya Unıversity School of Medicine Hospital, Pediatric Haematology and Oncology ward. Throughout 10 years of period we have created detailed reports using certain aspects of patients and tumors such as, tumor subtypes and grades of these tumors at the time of diagnosis, birth and accomodation places, gender, age at the time of diagnosis, type of cancer treatment they have received and survival rates. Of all the 149 patients who included in our study, %51.68 were males, %48.32 were females. The mean age at the time of diagnosis was 6±5,9. %42,3 of all patients were between 64 ages 0 and 4. When we have inspected patients related to their birth and accomodation places, we had find out bulk of the patients coming from outside of Edirne. Pain was the most encountered initial symptoms at presentation with %40.1 of all patients presenting with it. All patients has been diagnosed through histopathological diagnostic tools. When the diagnosis distributions according to solid tumor main groups are examined, in order of frequency; It was found that central nervous system (CNS) was the most common. As a whole, survival rate among all patients was %72. 5 years follow-up survival rate was %76.5 as total and %61 as uneventful. There were no significant differences between male and female survival rates. When general survival rates are examined according to tumor type; It was observed that the rate was highest in kidney tumors and lowest in CNS tumors. As a result through our analyze with our own experiences and patient profiles, we have found consistent and similar outcomes with other existing studies on this topic. For example like in other studies we have found that male/female ratio for solid tumors was 1,06, mean age at diagnosis was 6, most common type of tumor tissue of origin was CNS, total survival rate was %72 and lowest survival rate was among CNS tumors patients.
