Abstract (EN)
The concept of traumatic grief is evaluated within the criteria of post-traumatic stress disorder when the literature is examined. This may cause the concept of traumatic grief to be confused with a pathological condition such as post-traumatic stress disorder, and individuals may be diagnosed with PTSD in cases where the traumatic grief experience has not yet intensified into a severe disorder. A limited number of studies on the concept of traumatic grief were found in the literature reviewed. At the same time, no studies on schema coping styles and psychological well-being variables of the concept of traumatic grief have been found in the accessible literature. The aim of the research is to examine the diagnosis and characteristics of traumatic grief as a stand-alone concept in detail within the framework of schema coping styles and psychological well-being variables, and to make various suggestions to practitioners and researchers regarding the approach to individuals with traumatic grief in line with the results obtained. As a result, it was observed that the traumatic grief experienced by individuals who experienced the loss of a loved one was significantly predicted by their schema coping styles, but the psychological well-being of the individuals did not predict the traumatic grief they experienced. It has been determined that avoidance of schema coping style sub-dimensions is a strong predictor of traumatic grief. It is thought that the research will contribute to the literature, researchers and practitioners.
