Abstract (EN)

In this study, advanced treatment of urban wastewaters by lab-scale Tubular Membrane Bioreactor was intented. Treatment efficiency of chemical oxygen demand (COD), biological oxygen demand (BOD), total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), suspended solids (SS), color, turbidity and micobilogical composition of activated sludge was investigated to identify the effective parameters on wastewater treatment efficiency of Tubular Membrane Bioreactor. Also a class of irrigation water was determined according to Notification of Technical Methods of Water Pollution Control Regulations for irrigation water standardsDuring the first phase of the study, reaction and sedimentation kinetics of sequencing batch reactor were investigated. Performance of a lab-scale sequencing batch reactor was observed at different reaction and sedimentation times. Optimum reaction and sedimentation time was obtained 1.5 h and reaction constant (k) was calculated 0.30 h-1 for optimum operating conditions.During the second phase of the study, water quality and removal efficiency of Tubular Membrane Bioreactor were investigated. Urban wastewater was treated in the ratios of COD 93%, BOD 97%, TN 97%, TP 88%, SS 100%, turbidity 99.9% and color 90% removal efficiencies and high quality treated water was obtained by Tubular Membrane Bioreactor. According to Notification of Technical Methods of Water Pollution Control Regulations for irrigation water standards The class of irrigation water was determined C3S1; the third class irrigation water and available for irrigation.During the last phase of the study, microorganism types and floc structure of the activated sludge in the sequencing batch reactor were examined by using microscope. Samples of activated sludge were taken during the mixing phase and settlement phase. The protozoa and metazoa population of the activated sludge have the required characteristics for good quality activated sludge.
