Abstract (EN)
The qanun, with its rich historical and cultural context, is one of the prominent instruments in the Middle East. The aim of this study is to examine the content and effectiveness of the qanun education curriculum provided in music education institutions in Tunisia, identify shortcomings, and contribute to the design of a more effective curriculum by evaluating it in line with expert opinions. Music education is of great importance in terms of transferring cultural heritage, developing artistic talents, and nurturing individuals interested in music. However, the effectiveness and adequacy of education curricula prepared for unique instruments like the qanun are often not thoroughly reviewed. This research revolves around the following main problem and sub-problems: Main Problem: Does the qanun education curriculum provided in music education institutions in Tunisia adequately meet the needs and learning objectives of students? Sub-Problems: What is the content of the qanun education curricula of music education institutions and what learning objectives do they cover? Does the qanun education curriculum provide sufficient opportunities for students to enhance their musical abilities, acquire technical skills, and engage in creative thinking? What are the shortcomings of the qanun education curriculum, and what improvement suggestions can be made based on expert opinions? The results of this study aim to guide administrators, teachers, and music education experts in making the qanun education curricula in music education institutions in Tunisia more effective. Additionally, it seeks to contribute to music education by serving as a foundation for more extensive research in this field.
