Abstract (EN)

Today, after the damage caused by mass tourism to nature has begun to be understood, alternative tourism types have started to be oriented. Bicycle tourism, which is one of the alternative tourism types, has come to the fore in recent years. One of the reasons for this is the increasing traffic and the air pollution caused by it. Considering the deterioration of the natural environment and the share of tourism in climate change, it can be said that bicycle tourism is an environmentalist tourism type. When analysed in the context of bicycle tourism, it can be said that those who prefer this tourism have a higher environmental awareness. In history, the development of cycling and the development of women's rights progress in parallel. Therefore, it is desired to investigate the motivations of women in bicycle tourism. This research is built on the theory of planned behaviour, feminist theory and ecofeminism in order to fill the gap in the literature on feminism and cycling and to answer the question 'Why do women reparticipate in bicycle tourism?'. The main purpose of the research is to reveal the antecedents of the reasons for women's participation in bicycle tourism. For this purpose, Feminist Theory and Theory of Planned Behaviour were used in the study. The relationship between the variables in the research model was tested using structural equation modelling (pls-sem). Women participating in bicycle tours in Eskişehir constitute the research population. The sample is 349 of these women who were surveyed. According to the results of the research, feminist advocacy and activism have a significant impact on women's reparticipation in bicycle tourism. As a result, this research makes a unique contribution to the literature by explaining women's reparticipation in bicycle tourism with feminist theory, the theory of planned behaviour and ecofeminism.
