Abstract (EN)
In recent years, there has been an increase in studies on virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies in the tourism sector. The increase in research on the impact of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies on touristic destinations and visitor experiences shows the potential of these technologies in the tourism industry. This research reflects the current developments in the sector by evaluating the determination of tourists' perception levels of these technologies under current conditions. Quantitative research was preferred as the research method. The study population consists of guests staying in 4 and 5 star hotels in Sakarya example. Understanding these perceptions through the example of Sakarya may bring a new perspective to the literature. Therefore, the subject of the research is unique and comparable to previous studies. As a result of the research, it was determined that the data were normally distributed. Significant differences in the scale dimensions according to the demographic data of the participants were determined using t-test and Anova test. As a result, in the results of the hypotheses tested in the research, it was found that age groups created statistically significant differences on some factors. No significant differences were found for other demographic variables (gender and education level). In the literature review, the lack of relationship of various dimensions with demographic characteristics was noticed. This study shows that demographic characteristics should be taken into account to increase the use of VR/AR technologies in tourism organisations.
