Abstract (EN)

Ratios of conversion of deposits into credit are the indicators of the effectiveness of financial system and brokerage activity which is the key role of banks. In this study, in Turkish Banking System, the reasons of changes occuring for years at the ratios of conversion of deposits into credits, the measure of brokerage activity, are tried to be explained. The ratio of conversion of deposits into credit in Turkish Banking System are explained by associating crises occured. Our study contains the years between 1959 and 2011 and it?s examined being divided into two periods: the years 1959-2002 and 2003-2011. In the last period, 2003-2011, the position of Turkish Banking System in the world is tried to be explained by comparing the ratios of conversion of deposits into credit not only on its own but also with the other 13 countries chosen specifically.
