Feodalism and capitalism phenomena in Turkish village novels

This study is based on the relationship between literature and economics and the idea that societies have an important place in literature in the process of examining economic change forms the main framework of the study. The process of transition from feudalism as a class society to capitalism as a new class society and the effects of this process are examined through village novels in this study, where we have the opportunity to observe the reactions of the change in economic mindset in literary works. The study consists of three main parts. In the first chapter, the basic concepts for a better understanding of economics, which is considered to be a very separate discipline from literature, are given information, and then the theoretical structure of feudalism, Asian type of production style and capitalism are transferred and the transition process is explained. In the second part of the study, twelwe village novels were examined and the feudal and capitalist findings were identified. The third chapter examines the income distribution and poverty of the community in the village novels. Education, child labour, gender equality, rule of law and institutionalization are explained in the context of village novels as a solution proposal. A general evaluation was made in the results section and the study was concluded. Key words: Feudalism, Capitalism, Literature and Economics, Village Novels.
