A research on female factor in compositions of the Turkish romantic period composers Hacı Arif Bey and Avni Anıl

Music, which is thought to have a great place in human life, is seen as a branch of art that needs to be researched in order to observe the effects it has on every branch of art it is included in. It shows itself in artistic works that people apply to branches of art in order to reflect their feelings and thoughts. When we look at Turkish Music, the musicians of the period produced works that set an example for this subject. One of the important elements that caused the intensity of emotion was the theme of women. When the lyrics section of the composed works is examined, the place of women in life is reflected in the work. The female factor in the lyrics forms the work. The subject of this research is to examine and compare the perception of women in the compositions of Hacı Arif Bey and Avni Anıl, who lived in the same period, as reflected in the lyrics. How the woman fact, which is the subject of life, art and humanity, is processed in the works and how it is reflected in the works are among the aims of the research. This study, which is a qualitative research, is based on the descriptive research method. Literature review was used as a data collection method in the study. Content analysis was carried out on the works specified in the evaluations and limitations in line with the data obtained as a result of the literature review. As a result, the works of two composers who lived in the same period were analyzed; differences or similarities have been identified and interpreted. It has been tried to reveal the reflections of the style and attitude that the composers acquired under the influence of the period in which they lived.
