The applicability of six sigma management model at Turkish sport fedarations

Nowadays, Customer satisfaction, profitability and quality have become extremely important both in terms of sport services and private companies are required to maintain continuity. This study was performed in order to determine the applicability of Six Sigma management model at sports federations and sports service providers which have public tasks in Turkey.In this research, "descriptive scanning model" was used for the applicability of Six Sigma Management Model at Turkish sports federations. The universe of the research is the Sports Federation and its sample are the sports federations that actively carry out activities in Turkey. A survey has been applied aiming at attaining the opinions of 298 administrators elected by random method amongst 974 administrators that have honorary and permanent office (federation presidents, federation deputy chairmen, members of the Board of Directors, secretary general, supervisors and specialists) with the Turkish Sports Federations.In the research the applicability of the Six Sigma management model to the Turkish Sports Federations, its significance and the opinions of the administrators, preparing a ground for the formation of the Six Sigma management model in the sports federations has been found.As a result, considering the fact that there is not any success in the field of application of the "Six Sigma" without the support of the top management leadership and research results, Six Sigma management model seems to be applied in the fields of sports federations, management, organization, service, manufacturing and human resources.
