State aids for small&medium size entrepreneurs in Turkey and European Union

Tough competition rules are experienced in the global market economy that is formed by the integration of the world as a mainland. International integrations between countries and companies make to abandon concept of "boundary" on the maps. EU is one of the integrations metioned before. It is predicted that EU cause some opportunities and threats for Turkey. In the adoptation period to EU, state aids implemented in Turkey are conceived to minimize the risks of threats and to optimize opportunities. However, in EU, state aids actually focus on to provide competitive advantage by costs. In the first section of the research, definition of SME's, global importance of SME's, operation area and reason behind special support is described and their strong and weak sides are examined. In the second section of the research; first, evolution and importance of SME's in EU is explained then corporations give support to SME's, their aids and job improvement services are expressed. In the third and the last section of the research, in Turkey, evaluation and importance of SME's supporting corporations and their aids are explained. Also in the adaptation period to EU, opportunities and threats that Turkish SME's can confront are examined.
