An investigation of school administrator roles in Türki̇ye and Azerbaijan according to teachers' views

This study was conducted to determine the level of teachers' views on the administrative roles of school administrators in Türkiye and Azerbaijan. For this purpose, a personal information form and the 'School Administrator Roles Scale' developed by Tok and Doğan (2019) were used. In the 2021-2022 academic year, 418 teachers working in official primary, secondary and high schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education of Türkiye and Azerbaijan voluntarily participated in the study. The data obtained from the research were analyzed with SPSS 22.0 statistical program. In the study, a significant difference was found between the perceptions of teachers in Türkiye and Azerbaijan regarding the roles of school administrators in all dimensions. Accordingly, the level of perception of school administrator roles of teachers working in Azerbaijan is higher than that of teachers working in Türkiye. It was determined that the perceptions of the teachers participating in the study about school administrator roles were at the level of "Occasionally". In addition, female teachers' perceptions of school administrator roles are higher than male teachers. According to the education level variable, the perceptions of postgraduate teachers are higher than the perceptions of undergraduate teachers. As the age and seniority of teachers increase, their perception levels of school administrators' administrative roles also increase. According to school level, high school teachers' perceptions of school administrators' roles are higher than primary and secondary school teachers' perceptions. According to the branch variable, the group with the lowest mean was determined as teachers whose branch is social sciences.
