Examining the master's theses on the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic process on social studies education in Türkiye in terms of different variables

In the Covid-19 outbreak that spread from the People's Republic of China to the rest of the world in 2019, societies have encountered many problems in meeting their health, food and basic living needs. Countries were caught unprepared for such a massive and global outbreak problem and many problems were resolved in the process. One of the areas most affected by this global outbreak is undoubtedly students, schools and education-training activities. In order to minimize the negativities of this effect in the short and long term and to ensure that young generations of school age are raised in conditions suitable for the age, the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Turkey has decided to carry out education-training activities in the form of distance education via the Education Information Network (EBA) Platform and TRT EBA TV. The fact that the distance education model applied concerns and affects such a large mass population has led us to determine the advantages and limitations of this decision on Social Studies education during the period it was implemented. As a result of this study, it was seen that although the distance education model has advantages for social studies education, its disadvantages are more, and the findings and suggestions obtained are intended to set an example for similar situations in the future.
