Abstract (EN)
In developing countries, the most important source required to finance development or meet the gap of balance of payments is external debt. The fact that the funds needed to realize necessary investments for economic development in developing countries can not be met with domestic savings increases the need for external resources. Developing countries need external debt in order to remove saving gap and foreign exchange gap, and to achieve high growth rates. But the effects of flow of external debt on the developing countries are in different dimensions. This study, in addition to its analysis of the reason of getting into external debt, also aims at analyzing the effects of this problem on freedom of a country. The study consists of four main parts. In the first part introduced the study. The second part features kinds and reasons of external debt in general meaning of the concept of debt. The third part, external debt of Turkey is analyzed and the effects of external debt on freedom of Turkey. In the fourth and last part of the study is result and findings.
