Abstract (EN)

The subject of our thesis is the perception of Ikhwan al-Muslimun in Islamist journals published in Turkey. In this context, it has been tried to investigate when the Ikhwan referred to Turkey and who made efforts as individuals in these activities. Accordingly, the thesis consists of two parts. In the first part, the historical course and development of Islamist journals and the Muslim Brotherhood Movement, which are important in revealing how the Ikhwan is perceived in Islamist journals, are examined. In the second part, the Ikhwan perception in Islamist journals was investigated among the sixteen journals determined. The al- Ikhwan al-Muslimun movement emerged in Egypt in 1928 and it is one of the most important religious thought movements that affected various Islamic geographies. Thinkers like Hasan al-Banna, Sayyid Qutb, Abdulkadir Udeh, Sa'id Hawwa have been activein this movement and have written many works in their own fields. Although they were exposed to oppression and violence in the Egyptian politics of the period, they became very important figures in the thought of Islamism with the works and ideas they produced. Another subject related to our thesis is Islamist journals. Considering the historical course of Islamist journals independently of Turkey's political, religious and social life lead to an incomplete evaluation. With the Second Constitutional Era, the journalism activities, in which the thought of Islamism found a place in the intellectual field, entered the period of interruption that would continue from 1923 to 1947 with the reforms of the Republican period. In 1950, with the Democrat Party's power, the provision of a partial democracy environment gave the Islamist idea a place to broadcast again. Except for Hareket and Büyük Doğu Journals, other Journals started their publication life with the atmosphere of relaxation that started in this period, and a period was experienced when the Journals diversified. Since the mid-1960s, a new era has been entered, which also affected the publishing activities aimed at the acceleration of the thought of Islamism. In this period, which is called as translation activities, it was aimed to meet Turkish readers with translation works from Egypt and Pakistan from the 60s and 70s, and from Iran from the 80s, and purposeful translation activities started. Along with the translation activities, the translation of the books written by Hasan al-Banna and Seyyid Qutb, as well as Abdulkadir Udeh and Said Havva, caused changes in religious, intellectual, political and social thought in Turkey. The most important Islamist magazine serving to this purpose is Hilal magazine. Hilal journal, by pioneering these activities, thought that it would contribute to the Islamic awakening in Turkey with the recognition of the Ikhwan's works in Turkey. It is understood that the approach towards the Muslim Brotherhood Movement is positive in most of the Islamist journals, especially the Hilal journals. However, among these, it is seen that there are criticisms of concepts such as Sufism, Salafism, Takfirism, and ignorant society in connection with the movement in question.
