Attitudes and understanding towards science and technology of adults in society in Turkey

This study is prepared for determine the adults' opinions and attitudes of science, technology, sources of information, scientific and technological developments according to their gender, age groups and educational levels. Descriptive scanning model was used in the study. Descriptive scanning model was used in the study. Study group consists of 289 people over 18 years of age who live in different districts in Bursa and whose gender, age group, education level, occupational groups and socioeconomic classes differ. A data gathering tool was included in the questionnaire, titled "How Interested Are We in Science and Technology?" developed by Gucum, to help determine the attitudes and understandings of individuals. Two-factor ANOVA was performed for unrelated samples in order to determine the differences between dependent variables and gender, age, educational level and their interaction with each other.
